output issues Etc Eos PUCK

Hello an older model of puck is outputting only to conventional dimmers.

It refuses to control moving lights or LED lights.

The same showfile works immediately perfect running Nomad from a Macbook.

Any idea what could be the issue with the PUCK - is it a hardware problem ?

Same gadget from macbook, same simple dmx line, same showfile running nomad, everything works fine.

No reaction from LED or moving heads on Puck.

I can not see a different setting or where to look for the problem.

I attach the log file to this post, last show was 'Zero feet Away' perhaps you can see the problem?

  • Maybe the puck doesn't have the fixture profiles in its library for the moving heads etc.

Don't know if a show file includes the profiles for fixtures that were in the library of the machine it was saved from.  It would for custom profiles but probably not for library ones.

  • It is very persistent problem that we can really not explain. Not related to fixture profiles.

For example even without a fixture, so just sending RGBW to a generic LED via channels (not a fixture) does not work.

Only conventional dimmers seem to listen and respond.

  • Hi Anne.

can you explain how your setup is cabled. From what i understand, you have a Puck with a Gadget connected via usb. And then One dmx line goes to your dimmers and the other line goes to your LEDs. Is this correct?

Can you also confirm that your macbook and your puck are on the same software version and have the same fixture library installed in the about tab.

Also please confirm, since this is a one universe showfile from what i can tell, that your local DMX output on the gadget is sending Universe 1 on both output ports. You can check this in Setup>Device>Local Output. There should be 2 output ports and both should have Adress "1/1" as the output adress.

    hope this helps.
