Tracking / CueOnly

If you`re ure usually working in Cue Only, as we do `cause in some productions none of the cue`s stays as it was originally programmed. So it woudn`t be usefull if every correcture would be tracked automatically. Of course it`s very usefull being able to track single intensities, colors or positions manual. But I hate to be that carefull using that button.

An operator I`m working with had the problem that he switched to tracking-mode accidently and didn`t notice instantly and that meant a lot of Undo.

So, in my opinion the posibility to switch from cue only to tracking mode has nothing to do there! Keep it in setup as it is if you wan`t to change from tracking to CueOnly.

You do set tracking or cue only in the setup. There is no way that I know of to fully change to tracking mode or cue only mode when just programming the cues. Yes you can specify a single cue or action to be done either tracking or cue only when in the opposite mode, but that does not all of a sudden apply the change for the rest of programming.

  • There was no question, just a statement.
You´re slipping from Cue Only to tracking mode very easily by hitting the CueOnly/Track button accidently. Try it you´ll see.

That´s what this post is about. I think it should be only possible to change that in setup.

OK, reading my post again I see I didn´t made that very clear...

    Excusez moi...

  • Hi Paul,

You can only use [Cue Only/Track] when recording or updating a cue, it will not change the mode the console operates in outside of that only that one instance. Changing the global operation can only be done through the setup option.

This key is essential as there are many times you may want to apply changes on a cue only basis when the desk is in tracking mode or visa-versa. How else could you do this?!

  • You have to go to setup to change programming mode from Tracking to CueOnly but if you press the Q-Only/Tracking but and confirm with enter when programming in CueOnly you change to tracking and not only for one operation. For changing back you have to go to setup or use the undo function.

If you don´t believe me, please try it.

That´s what I´m talking about. It easily happens accidently, that´s why I think ikt should ONLY be possible to change the programming mode in Setup no matter which direction.

For sure no big deal but not necessary to get trouble ´cause of that.

  • I've just tried this, and can't seem to replicate... Cue Only mode remained enabled in Setup even after I performed a tracking update in Live..?

  • I have the same problem in 1.9.6 in the german version, but was fixed in 1.9.8 stefan
  • Ohh, I see. I´m still in 1.9.6
Good to hear that it´s already fixed and I made trouble for no reason...

    Thanks a lot.
