Ion : LTP mode when using a sub master while not programed as LTP ....

Hey everyone,

Informations :

I programmed a show on the ETC Element , i am now using the ION board, i updated both of the boards with the same soft.

I use a fader wing 2x 10 .

Problem :

I load my show and everything is working as usual on the Ion desk (subs, cues...) EXCEPT, when i create a new sub master , this one is playing on stage like if it was programmed in LTP, while when i go to the sub list IT IS NOT programmed as LTP but as HTP.

Please someone could help me for this ?

Thanks a lot !

  • You can use your wings in channel mode.  If you hold down fader controls as you would to change pages on the wings, you will see a selection at the end of the page options to put them into channel mode.  It is pretty apparent when you are in this mode - the LEDs are red and the display indicates channel.

If you'd care to post your show file here, and explain exactly which channels/submasters etc you are seeing this on, I'm sure several of us would be happy to take a look!

    Thanks much!

  • Hey Dan,

I'll try to be more specific about what is happening.

    - I open my show, everything is loaded perfectly, and all the sub masters i recorded on the element are working good as well as the cues, part cues, time ..... Nothing wrong.

    - I want to create a new sub master, i do my preparation ex :  channel 24+channel 23@Full record sub 12 , the green led under the fader is lighting...

-I go check on the sub display, everything is normal, by default, no independent, or ltp or anything else ...

-I have a cue sent live on stage, and i want to add my sub master n°12, when i up the fader the cue on stage is desapearing, like if my sub master was programed as LTP mode.

    Thank you very much

  • Dear Anne,

Thank you for your answer, i now remember this manipulation to be in channel mode. It is obvious that you can be in channel mode or sub masters mode !!!

I do have to ask the lighting designer if he minds that i post the show file here before doing it.

If you want to check i answered Dan about the exact steps and what is happening with this sub master issue !

    Thank you so much

  • Hey Riri.  Just to be clear - we are talking about intensity instructions, yes?  Because NPs are always LTP.  What is the behavior like?  Are values snapping or fading?

If your designer doesn't want to put a show file out in the public domain - you can email to me at anne.valentino@etcconnect.com.

With a description of the cue, the sub and the channels involved, we should be able to sort it out.  Also, want software version are you running?

    Thanks!
