Timecode Timeline + Controls

It would be great if there was some form of timeline window similar to grandma2 that allows you to view Timecode events on a timeline, rather than just viewing times from the show control list. Allowing for easier edits.

And it’s also worth considering adding a dedicated window to control playback & recording of Timecode / show control evens, without having to open the show control window, and do “Event 1/ Learn”

And last but not least, some form of configurable filter when learning Timecode events, I.e limiting Timecode learning to cues only, so if people use macros to control learning of Timecode events, it doesn’t get picked up.

This probably won’t be possible due to some limitation I’m unaware of, but the ability for consoles with 3.5mm headphone jacks to receive and decode LTC / Smpte Timecode would be brilliant.

  • I first learned how to use time code on a hog4 and it was so simple to get it to learn times. you turn on timecode at the top of the screen then toggle on the learn time button. At that point every time you hit go it stores the current time in the cue that was triggered. if time code is running it stores the frame and if not it stores an autofollow time (this can be useful on its own without timecode). I love Eos and it's my main desk but its implementation of timecode is needlessly complicated. So yes a timeline veiw would be great but also why do I need a bunch of macros and constantly be flipping over the the show control tab to just store the times I want to have cue played back. What makes it worse is that on eos {Learn Alert time} is a SK that comes up when you hit [Learn]. this will registers the time between go presses but it just a countdown that holds at zero but wont triger anything. so you can store the time between go presses automaticly but not use that information to automaticly create an auto follow. {learn alert time} it the only SK on this menu. How about we add {Learn Timecode} and {Learn Fw Time}. Alternitivly we could have [Learn] [Cue] [Time] be a comand that would behave like the hog and store timecode values if they are present when there is a [Go] and if there is no timecode it will store a Follow time. The comand could be ended by a second [Learn] press just like how macros work.

  • Yes, it is purely a timecode frame adjustment -- but every 100ms is the same as 3 frames... I've got a page dedicated to timecode related items, among them are these targets for timecode adjustments. I also trigger these macros from a Streamdeck/Companion with OSC.

  • How do you change it with ms? I can only get it to change frames and seconds

  • I’ve purchased a cheap usb midi pad and I am filling it with macros using OSC, using macros to +/- the times is an awesome idea, and I’ll see if I can get it working. Thanks

  • With regards to Timeline view -- I'd love this as well although, It might be best to upvote the already existing feature request at:  Eos Family Feature Requests  -- instead of creating a new request for essentially the same core request.
