Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • Stick Beams and Fixture Labels not as useful as hoped

Hi, Augmented is not as useful as I hoped at answering the question: "what is the bright spot downstage left" particularly on large shows. 1) There should be an option for channel number labels to be displayed at the floor, rather than the middle...
  • Use camera as Color reference

Spending a lot of time to get my colorpalettes accurate thru different fixtures, I was thinking there should be a way to automate that process. The color estimation of eos (for “unknown” fixtures) is not bad but far away from perfect. That is because...
  • Selecting a MS channel object and typing a channel shouldn't throw an error message.

I can select magic sheet channel objects one at a time and Eos will automatically insert a plus between them. If I select a magic sheet channel object and then type a channel, it gives the error message "Error: Channel list is empty". I can't tell you...

  • Aim for Movers

It would be great if we could use Aim with movers to orient them in the space. I have a show already programmed and am building an Augment3d space around it. I have a test focus palette and would love to be able to put all my movers in that focus palette...
  • User Setting to toggle default Magic Sheet Selection behavior

By default when you drag your finger or mouse on a magic sheet over channel objects, it reorders them from lowest Channel to highest on the CMD Line. Thankfully when you hold Shift+drag it will instead keep them in selection order on the CMD Line. I would...
  • Ability to change visual display of cues in the PSD

Had a couple of people mention this to me, so I thought I would put it on here. Discussed with a few people about having ways to visually distinguish cues in a list, e.g. bold font, the ability to indent more, the ability to change the colour of the cue...
  • Gobo wheel editor needs some love

Hi there, Recently I had set out to create a gobo wheel for a media server that includes custom thumbnails for the content I have loaded. In this process I have run into a lot of resistance in the gobo wheel editor. Here are my observations: There...
