Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • Learn cue follow times

Hi! I would love to be able to use the learn button to record follow times into cues. Example: [Learn] [Cue] [Follow/Hang] and then it counts the duration between presses of the Go button and applies that duration as the cue’s follow time. A similar feature...
  • Feature Request: Automark-Off on per fixture basis

Dear people at ETC, I really appreciate having auto-mark functionality at hand. That said from time to time I stumble into situations where I would love to switch it off not for the whole Q but just for a (couple of) specific fixture(s). I know it´s possible...
  • Attach snapshot to user

It would be nice to attach a certain snapshot to a user. If you switch users, you,d go to the appropriate snapshot for that users favorite screen layout. As with encoder templates, if you do not fill out the users snapshot number in settings, it will...
  • Copy To -> Move To -> Exchange With

Sometimes i really need an exchange. For channel values in the cue, or exchanging of groups/pallets, but first thing mostly. Please, ETC!
  • Allow [Query] {Marking} and {Marking} also for AutoMark

Query Mark and Query Marking currently only work with referenced marking. i would love to see those two query conditions also work with AutoMark. I assume that Query Mark should be the simpler of the two. it's those channels that show MK in the M cue...
  • Master for submasters

I would like to see a new type of (master) fader added. A master for submasters. This master should act as an inhibitive master for only the yellow channels (those under control of a submaster). It should not affect any values coming from other targets...
  • Channels in Subs should be able to have discrete timing values that override on/off time on bump button press.

Hi there! I've been running into a lot of shows where I want to have subs that fire with a discrete delay in/out. Currently the workaround is to have a cue list with two or three cues -- the discrete delay on cue, the discrete delay off cue, and I tend...
  • Shift Back Should Always Go Back a Cue Even During a Fade

When I press shift back I want to go backwards a cue 100% of the time, I never want to stop an existing fade. When doing rapid edits I frequently encounter situations where I want to go backwards a cue and press shift back, but it just pauses the fade...
  • Allow Custom Parameter Labels When Building Custom Fixtures

It would be nice to allow us to label parameters of custom fixtures to be whatever we want instead of using the stock library of parameter names. Sometimes the EOS list doesn’t have what I need and I have to substitute with something that doesn’t really...
  • Default Mark Time per channel in patch or per fixture type

Default Mark Time per channel in patch or at least per fixture type would be great as it would come in so handy when you work with scrollers and media servers / LEDs in the same show. That would be awesome!
