Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • Map keys on Program Wing

Can I map keys on my program wing? I would like to map the keys next to the master pair ([Release], [Spread], [Off], [Assert], etc.), which I never use, to be the macro keys 801 - 812. If not, I would like to move this to be a feature request, please...
  • Apply curves to absolute effects and/or apply palettes to linear effects

Hey guys, This is a request for a specific situation. Very often a gaffer will ask me to set an A and a B focus palette with movers to then move between in an effect. That’s easy enough with an absolute effect using focus palettes. However, the one...
  • Add in patch copying to part channels

In patch chan 82 part 1 <copy to > chan 82 <part> gives Error: Syntax error I would have expected to be able to duplicate a fixture on a channel.
  • Layering of effects

hello, I think we could really use a feature where we’ll be able to layer effects. example: Effect 1 is a slow Sine Wave intensity effect Effect 2 is a flicker I want to be able to multiply the two, resulting in a flickering sine wave. Another...
  • merge 2 augmented plots (venue and touring show)

Hello, would be quite useful to be able to import a augmented model as we import skp or dae, without replacing the existing aug. would make it easy to get a venue aug and put in it decor, pipes and fixtures from the aug tour show. if this is undoable...
  • iRFR Macro Buttons

I would love to see a few assignable macro buttons in the iRFR app on the face panel (when on an iPad) to save some keystrokes. Plus the ability to label them. So I could have one for example that does "@ Full RemDim Sneak Enter"
  • A3D - Input conventional focus position in patch and view it.

Similar to how with moving lights we see an XYZ of where the lamp is focused at any time, it would be useful to input the focus position of conventionals with coordinates in patch rather than having to click and drag. It would also be great to see the...
  • Feature Requests: Mark Time per channel, GoToCueOut per Q-List, Auto-Mark-Off per channel/parameter

Dear ETC-People, first: Thanks a lot for 3.1! I just started to play around with it and already like it a lot! Your hard work is meaning something to us. Much appreciated! Then: Mark Time per channel, Auto-Mark-Off per channel/parameter and GoToCueOut...
  • Go To Cue Timecode

When pressing the Go To Cue button, it would be great if there could be a new softkey for Timecode - where you could enter a timecode and Eos would put you in the cue you would be in at that timecode.
  • Fixture Spectrum Curve

Allow users to input the photometric data (X/Y, wavelength, width) for each diode on an LED light. This would allow for spectrum control with spectrum tools but also would create a gammut the light could operate within on the color picker. The end goal...
