Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • [Recall From] discrete times and delays from other channels

When coming up with a very complicated selection order for discrete timing it gets frustrating to realize that I didn't think to save said complicated selection into a group, or that I don't fully remember the discrete timing sequence when trying to apply...
  • Timecode as a field in Cue - Active and Cue - Pending Magic Sheet targets

Would be nice to be able to display the timecode of the pending cue on a magic sheet (below a timecode widget) to quickly see when the next cue is going to fire.
  • Dynamic Fade Feature for Specific Parameters

Instead of creating and applying a custom curve for specific fixture parameters, it would be great for Eos to have a stock feature that could be a dynamic fade for fixture parameters. An example would be programming movement from one focus palette to...
  • Scenic Element that is scalable

Hey there, I would like to be able to scale objects with scenic elements. There is a curtain assigned to a scenic element. Would be great to fade between "closed" (normal) and "opened" (scaled in Y to be thin). I hope this explaination is understandable...
  • Export vector based magic sheets as true vector based SVGs (including imported svg elements)

For years, Eos has rasterized magic sheet elements that were imported prior to exporting them. IE, if you import an SVG floorplan, when you export the MS as a SVG, all your Eos symbols and text will be vectors, but the floorplan will export as a raster...
  • OSC-Output Submaster-Level

I would like to get Submaster-Levels via OSC so that I can control Submasters from different Controllers.
  • Query Query

What if Query Query acted like select active, so it would filter to non-sub channels. IE: Query Query @ full would grab all chans at full filtering out the chans getting their value from a submaster.
  • Password/4-digit pin protection to lockout console

I know this is something along the roadmap somewhere, but I haven't seen it listed in the new feature requests feed and figured it should be moved here as well. We'd love to see password or 4-digit pin-style protection ability for eos consoles. Regarding...
  • Keyboard shortcuts for camera views

In most 3D softwares, there's keyboard shortcuts for switching from top, side, right, etc. views. It's clumsy trying to navigate around when I can't quickly access the top view. Check out the Blender keyboard shortcuts. Maybe they need to be CTRL+[#]...
  • Using Windows Commands Copy, Cut, Paste

It would be very helpful if we could use the Windows-style commands Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V to copy text in lists like for example the Cue list.
