Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

In Blind, iRFR Encoders should display their blind values, not live values.
  • Highest & Lowest as Query option

Hello, I wonder if there could be a query option fo find the highest or lowest value for parameters of channels in a selection (or at least for the intensity values) I ran into this question thinking about a solution for my "followme-macro" probelm...
  • Sorting Scene Direct Select

Is it possible to order Scene direct selects by scene number rather than orderd by cue lists? For episodic TV and film at the start of each day I make a new cue list and label it with the date. Cue 1 of that list is our scene number, say 101. Cue...
  • Solo/hilight button

Coming from Light Jockey and Onyx, I find the solo function really useful. I was really surprised when I took the Eos class and asked about it and found out it doesn’t exist. It seems like a super simple feature to implement.
  • export Cue List Spreadsheed

I'd love to export my current Cuelist as an Spreadsheet. Exporting as an ASCII and doing the Magic with a spreadsheet-Programm is not what i like to do. Documentation would be great again. And handing the Show to someone for what-ever-Desk is possible...
  • [recall from]/[copy to] to work for focused conventionals

Nowadays often the case is that you, during a revival or festival, replace a conventional tungsten or LED fixture with a movinglight. As you can in patch click to focus for conventionals, there must be a virtual XYZ target for them hidden somewhere...
  • Absolute Groups

Whenever a channel is added to or moved in patch, it can affect Group selections. It would be a helpful convenience thing to be able to designate a group as a set range, no matter what happens in Patch. I usually use Groups as Cue List filters, so I...
  • Cue Time x Replace With y

We would like a feature to be able to select a range of cues and take any that are x and replace with y. Example: Cue 1 time 4.9, Cue 2 time 3, Cue 3 time 4.9, Cue 4 time 9, Cue 5 time 4.9 Syntax: Cue 1 thru 5 time 4.9 Replace With 8 Result: Cue 1 time...

  • Grabbing a focus handle should post the channel to the command line and make it selected

There may be good reasons to not do this that I'm not thinking of but... If you're in Control mode and if you've got a moving light on and you're showing focus handles, right now you have to select the light on the command line first, and then grab...
