Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • CSV Advanced Patch Export

Hi It would be uber useful to be able to do a patch export and type a group in. So I could just export Patch Data for Group 1 for example. Rather than having to remember lots of random channel numbers! I'm aware there is still a bug with advanced...
  • Macroable Format / Hold Format Button

From what I can tell, there is no current way to use macros to set the live/blind channel display format to a known state, without using snapshots or other trickery. There is a "/eos/key/spreadsheet" command listed in the manual, but it seems to error...
  • Tab 38 Snapshots (More granularity when storing Augment3d settings)

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to make software requests, but I have one regarding A3d and Snapshots. When recording a Snapshot of the A3d tab, it would be great to select/deselect camera position and lighting options. For example, I would...
  • channel-level go to cue

I often need to make a change in blind (or a bunch of changes in a range of cues) but we'll also be running long cues or multipart cues or have some other reason we can't do a global go-to-cue. That reason could be we're flying through cues and making...
  • Order Fixture along as in a3d

    • Under Review on

You could add in option in the offset tool that says "order all the fixtures as they are ordered in argument3d". I think that´d be one of my favourite options in eos.
  • MSC TX ID per Cue List

Assign an MSC TX ID on a Cue List Basis so that a cue list can be dedicated to a particular destination rather than having to set it globally for all MSC sends.
  • focus traditionnal fixtures as moving lights in augmented

hello, as it seems very fastidious to focus trad incrementing datas, would it be possible to focus them same as in wyg, as if they were moving lights? using rotations makes it really too long and imperfect, so i don t waste time on it, but would be a...
  • Bring MH gobo icons in to beam palettes

When you populate beam palettes with gobos from moving heads, can the icons that already exist in the head file be applied to the palette? Automatically or via button somewhere.
  • Add an option to allow cue playback to override whatever is captured in the command line

I was thinking primarily of a busking scenario where I could use direct selects to select groups and apply palettes but would still want a go command to take me to a known state. Another might be to ensure a blackout is always able to take full control...
  • PSD User data fields

PSD User data fields would be super useful, sometimes I would like to have a field/column labelled "Trigger" that would tell an operator where a trigger is coming from - OSC, MIDI, GO on Eos, analog input... Other fields could be labelled "Busk", as...
