Issues with existing profiles

Thanks, Sasha. This is what was going on. It doesn't completely make sense in this case, but I can see how it is consistent with the DMX profile for the fixture, so that's fine. Just on subject of strobe control, on Source 4 LED S2 Lustr QStage mode, the 'Shutter Strobe' parameter is user-bounded as '0 - 33Hz' but the fastest output rate is much slower than this. The manual just says 'variable strobe control'.

Thank you for your reply. Whilst I am aware of the HS fade downside, I never enable it. I like to know that I am not fading thru green. [;)]

Also, the way I look at it, one is not controlling individual cells, you are controlling multiple parts of a fixture, like for example the Mac Aura. Denying access to those features of a fixture might be  a bit irritating for the less experienced user, ( not knowing how to enable ( edit) a fixture template), or somebody who got those fixtures just for the ability to have three different rings of colour.....

How did you determine that the rate is slower?

The output range should be 0-33Hz, which is determined as follows;
The on pulse is always 10ms.  The shortest off is 20ms.  The total period of that range is 30mz, so one time in 30mz is 33Hz.

Hi Sasha, in general the strobe rate on these fixtures is much, much slower than the encoder value - just based on looking at the light output. I looked at it again last night, and it may actually be the case that the highest parameter value (33 / DMX 254) is 33Hz output - it is very fast - however the range on the fixture is definitely not linear. So with parameter set to 20 Hz, for example, the light output strobes at no more than 2 - 3 Hz.

Issue I found this week was that all profiles for the Clay Paky Alpha: Spot 300, Spot HPE 300, Beam 300 and Wash 300 do not have lamp on or off commands. The fixtures do support dmx lamp control however. Thanks.

Tom, haven't worked with those fit quite some time, but could there be two versions of the profiles, one being labeled LC as in LampControl? those would have lamp on and such...

I remember seeing those! So that is what LC means, not to worry we found the manual and wrote our own lamp control in the end. Thanks Ueli.

LitePanels Sola 4 & Sola 6 have the zoom parameter backwards. I have a modified fixture profile that I can send in if anybody is interested. Thanks!

Hi, I just wanted to follow up on the post on the 24th Oct in regards to the Mac Quantum Wash. Am I reading your reply correctly in that EOS is currently unable to handle the 3 rings in the fixture properly? We did the same thing of changing the profile to give us access to the 3 rings. But this has proven to be quite cumbersome in practice. To make the fixture red requires scrolling thru the colour pages or ML controls to find all of the red attributes. The colour picker doesn't apply to the extra rings, only the first. The effects only apply to the first ring as well. Is there a better way around this? Also found that the Zoom is set to step, snapping from min to full unless holding shift. Cheers for your help Rob

At this time Eos only has one color picker per fixture- so patching each ring as it's own fixture or creating Red 1 Red 2, etc is the best solution. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

In the Vello Lighting Noble Gene280 profile, the supplied Color Wheels don't show up in the ML Controls or on the Encoder LCD screen. It acts the same on the Nomad software.

I've tried creating custom color & gobo wheels for the device and the images don't show up on the ML Controls or Encoder screen.

I'm running the newest (2.2.1.9.0.13) firmware & latest fixture library (Build 53).

I am sorry that you are having issue with our profile for the Vello Lighting Noble Gene280.

I have not been able to duplicate the issue on either Nomad or Eos Ti for color swatches- they appear in both ML controls and the encoder LCD.  

Would you mind trying to install a fresh download of the library patch?

Are you seeing this issue with any other fixtures?

Hi Anne, I'm using a GIO with some Clay Paky Alphaspot 700HPE's.. the fixture personality works mostly, but seems a limited.. This is mainly an issue with the wheels - gobo, prism etc. I don't have full control over speeds for rotate (spin) of gobos, prism spin speed, colour wheel speed and I am only able to use the default shutter speeds. Pan/tilt/int etc all fine, the modes etc are correct.. Could you guys take a look please? regards Paul

Are you holding shift down whilst trying to change speeds? Just a thought......
