2.7.3 and Element Face Panel Firmware Upgrade

The Element face panel (on XPe consoles) firmware is unfortunately not up-gradable in the field.  The fact that you are getting the firmware update message for it is a bug, which we intend to fix in the next release of Eos Family Software.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

In the meantime, you can ignore the error on boot and continue to use the console as normal without any worry.  If this is very annoying to you, we do have an option to remove the message on boot in this instance.  Please contact your local ETC Technical Services if you would like this.

I am having the same problem with an Ion 6000 that I just updated to 2.7.3. My out of date error message is for the Gadget/IO Board (1.4.1.9.0.3).

in the shell, click settings, then Maintenance. scroll to the bottom, where you will see a list of different pieces firmware, on of the says Gadget/IO 1.4.1.9.0.3.

a lttle bit further up there is a button Update I/O Firmware. click it. wait a bit for it to launch, then in the dropdown you can choose version 1.4.2, click download. let it do its job, when it doesn't do anything anymore, exit and restart the console.

I am having a similar issue. My I/O port did update but my facepanel is not taking the update. It is still in 1.1.0.9.0.3 after the firmware update.  I only have 2 options to choose form in the dropdown menu.  Suggestions?

As an update: this bug will be addressed in the upcoming 2.7.4 patch release -- Element consoles with 1.1.0.90.0.6 firmware will no longer be prompted to update. 

Is this an Element facepanel? 1.1.0.9.0.3 doesn't sound like a version for that circuit board. Can you post a picture of what you're seeing?

today i encountered a similar thing:

i updated a Element console from '2.2.0.9.0.96' to '2.7.4 Build 12'.
after the update i also got the 'needs firmware update' message.

so i looked in the Maintenance tab and got this screen:

for both entry the update button is grayed out / not clickable.
for the 'Gadget/IO Board' the Information to update it with the 'Upgrade I/O Firmware...' button is displayed.

If i try this i get a Dialog..
after some waiting (it shows status information / starts connection...)
i have a drop down with two entries:

i select the one with IO_CARD_v1_4_2_9_0_005.SRC
and click 'Download'
it  does something - the progress-bar fills up.
eventually it finishes at one point it starts again with detecting.
So i Exit. and Reboot - and back into the Maintenance Tab -
but that seems to not satisfy the Firmware Update Manager.
is there any other place to get a newer file from?

and is the not updateable 'Element Face Panel' normal?
Product Number is '4330A1120'
(i think this describes the used hardware in the desk..)

I am having the exact same issue with our Element, right down to the pictures you have posted and our board responding in the same way.

So you have updated to at least 2.7.4 as advised in this thread?
