What are the benefits of a multipart cue as opposed to two or more normal cues carrying out the same functions?
Going back to an earlier post asking how to zero ML intensity while moving but restore on stop. Would a multipart cue be more suitable?

Wuz - any chance you could make this two picutres is there? I'm having trouble reading the smaller text. From what I can see this looks like a Multipart cue and I'd like to see the detials to compare with the Follow cue idea from Cody.
Don't worry about new pics - I managed to read it and put it in a spreadsheet for my desk notes.
This is what I think I see happening;
Cue 1 is a regular cue with some dimmers set and our ML Int at 60 with a focus set by CT (Is that a FP?)
Cue 2 last 5 seconds and sets up a 'Forward' F2.6. Is this 2.6 secs or ref to a cue 2.6?
P1 of 2 Apart from some dimmer changes we see our ML go to zero and the focus changes to TB
P2 of 2 Say the Movers fade out. But didn't this happen above?
P3 of 2 Now the movers move! Again see P1.
2.1 in this new cue (nothing to do with cue 2 above) the ML's intensity is set back up.
But - if the Fw/Hg F2.6 was ref to a cue 2.6 this would jump 2.1?
I suspect this is not perhaps the way things were entered but merely the way the spread sheet is showing us what happens. Clearly I have to learn how to plug this stuff in and get down to some serious reading here.
Click on image. Right click. Select "View image". . . . That will make it full screen w/ zoom.
In a multipart Q, grey items change in a different Part.
Q2 P1
Q2 P2
Q2 P3
Q2.1
Total time to complete Q2 + Q2.1 = 5.0 seconds.
Does that help?
Oh yes it does, indeed.Thank you for going to all that trouble. All cut'n pasted into my notes, Today I was able to record a simple Follow, a Hang and a simple Multipart so the bits are coming together. With your notes I reckon I should have this under control very soon now.
